Before attending the workshop staff must complete the online ‘Making Every Contact Count’ module on HSEland.
MECC online training provides health professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to routinely have positive, supportive conversations on key healthy behaviours to prevent or manage chronic disease. Topics include Tobacco & Alcohol, Physical activity, Healthy eating & weight, Mental health & wellbeing. The e-learning modules provide the theory and details needed to carry out the brief intervention. The workshop provides an opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills by allowing an opportunity to practice the brief intervention skills and to receive practical advice and tips to help use brief interventions with patients.
