Clinical Innovation Awards 

Health Innovation Hub Ireland will visit UHL next week to promote their annual clinical innovation awards. The team will be in the OPD corridor on Thursday 3 Oct from 12-2.30pm to meet staff and promote their work.

HSE Children First Training

The HSE Children First National Office are running virtual information sessions in the coming weeks. These online briefings and workshops are optional add-ons to the mandatory “An Introduction to Children First” training.

 

The Mandated Persons Online Interactive Workshop is a 3-hour workshop which aims to provide Mandated Persons with a clear knowledge of their roles and responsibilities under the Children First Act 2015, Children First National Guidance and the HSE Child Protection and Welfare Policy. It also aims to support Mandated Persons to increase their confidence in recognising child protection and welfare concerns and determining if a concern meets reasonable grounds for reporting or meets the threshold for mandatory reporting under the legislation.

 

Mandated Persons Online Interactive Workshop training dates:

•Wednesday 02 October 2024 | 10am – 1pm
•Thursday 10 October 2024 | 10am – 1pm
•Wednesday 13 November  | 10am – 1pm

 

Recognising and Reporting Child Protection or Welfare Concerns workshop is a 3.5 hour Interactive Workshop on Recognising and Reporting Child Protection or Welfare Concerns for staff who are not Mandated Persons. This training is specifically for staff who are not Mandated Persons. Please only express interest in this training if you are not listed on Schedule 2 of the Children First Act 2015.

 

Recognising and Reporting Child Protection or Welfare Concerns training dates:

•Thursday 24 October 2024 | 9.45am-1pm

National Breastfeeding Week 1- 7 October 

 



National Breastfeeding Week is marked each year from 1 - 7 October, it is an opportunity to discuss the importance of breastfeeding as the normal and healthy way to feed babies and young children. Breastfeeding gives babies the best start for a healthy life, and it protects both mother and baby, the health benefits are undisputed. It is also crucial that women are empowered, enabled and supported on their breastfeeding journey.

To mark National Breastfeeding week, there are many events taking place in Limerick and Clare. Please see Calender of Events Compiled by the Mid West Regional Breastfeeding Committee and an information poster attached to this email.


 


Virtual Ward Promotional Stands

There will be two stands in UHL in the coming week to promote our virtual ward. These events will be held in collaboration with our tech partner, Doccla. The aim is to raise awareness and share information about our services with staff and service users and their families.



Event Details:

 

UHL OPD Corridor: Tuesday 1 October – Morning Time

UHL Canteen Entrance: Wednesday 2 October – Morning Time

 

We encourage all staff to engage with the stands and learn more about the benefits of the virtual ward.


 


Walktober Step Challenge

 



Walktober is an opportunity for staff to walk more as part of their commute and leisure time while connecting with colleagues and friends as part of a team.
