Patient flow webinar :Optimal Management of Care of the Older Person in Urgent and Emergency Care Services

The fourth Patient Flow academy webinar is happening on :

The webinar is open to all operational and frontline HSE clinical staff across acute and community services with an interest in patient flow. 

The webinar will be delivered by a panel of front-line staff responsible for leading clinical care for Older Persons in their respective services.

 



The panel includes: 
•Dr Emer Ahern, National Clinical Advisor for Older Persons and Consultant Trauma and Orthogeriatrician in Cork University Hospital
•Dr Rosa McNamara, National Clinical Lead for the Emergency Programme and Consultant in Emergency Medicine, St. Vincent’s University Hospital
•Dr Marie O’ Connor, Consultant in Geriatric Medicine, Connolly Hospital and Centre for Rehabilitation at National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh

Outbreak Update UHL

We are dealing with various outbreaks of infection in UHL. Affected wards detailed below.

All efforts should be made to reduce foot traffic through outbreak wards . This means a minimal number of team members should round on the affected wards.

 

Important notice on Mask Wearing:

Surgical or FFP2 mask wearing is recommended for visitors and all staff working in the above wards. Patients and visitors to be offered surgical masks on entry to these areas.

 

Remember:

•Personal Packs of alcohol-based hand gel are available for staff.
•Gloves to be worn appropriately, required for contact with blood, body fluids, secretions, excretions only.
•The decontamination of communal equipment is vital.
•Ensure that disinfectant wipes are available at communal computer points.
•No open sweets, biscuits tins at stations etc.
•Sitting on patients' beds discouraged.
•Discard open fruit/food on patient lockers in outbreak wards
