ED and 2C UHL

I had to go to A&E early Sunday morning. Dreading going from all the bad press. From the moment I entered the hospital to the moment I was discharged. The diginity, respect and excellent medical treatment I was given was exceptional. Every member of Staff there work so hard and deserve such credit. I hope by leaving this review some of the wonderful staff in ED dept and 2C ward might accept it as a thank you for looking after me so well.

Acute Fracture Unit University Hospital Limerick

I attended an appointment today with my elderly relative who had a fractured shoulder. From start to finish my relative, who is 85, was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. UHL has received some bad publicity recently but I could not speak highly enough of the treatment my relative received today. Thank you to a very efficient patient centric team in a very busy enviornment.

Emergency Department and the ED review clinic & St Johns Minor Injury Clinic Reception

Attended A&E. Ciara aged 20 years had an infected cyst under right armpit and GP advised straight to A&E once she saw pic. Was triaged within 15 minutes by a thorough and lovely nurse but did not get her name. Seen by Consultant Dr Cormac Mehigan who got Ciara sorted within half an hour and reviewed her on 28th May in ED review clinic exactly on her review appt time. He could not have been nicer or more professional. It was a pity that the minor injury clinic in St John's Hospital would not drain her cyst due to location. We had called in there before UHL to try not put an already A&E dept under more pressure by something we thought the minor injury clinic could sort. Understand now it was due to proximity of cyst to lymphatic system so well done St John's for sending us on. Many thanks to all staff in St Johns reception & UHL A&E reception and area.

Cystic Fibrosis Unit UHL

The meal Porter, named Helen, has been extremely kind and accommodating throughout my inpatient stay on the CF ward of UHL. She has gone out of her way to ensure my dietary requirements were catered for and that I had enough in my room fridge to ensure I would be alright while she was off over the weekend. She was constantly upbeat and eager to help at every opportunity. I can't praise her enough, she really brightened my days and made me feel so incredibly comfortable and well cared for.
