Nenagh Hospital Surgical Day Ward

My son is 7 years old and autistic non-verbal, he was admitted to the day ward in Nenagh hospital to have teeth pulled which had to be done under sedation, as you can imagine this would be a very difficult and traumatic experience to cope with for my son.

I just want to let you know that the staff in the Nenagh surgical day ward on the day were absolutely AMAZING!!

Everyone in Nenagh on the day was so kind and understanding and of our situation, my son was absolute traumatized and lashing out it was very upsetting for us as parents, but the whole team, Dr Siobhan Stapleton who performed the surgery, the 2 anesthetist's, the 3 lovely nurses that waited in recovery with me and my son, there was another man who took my son into the theatre, I'm not sure if he was a porter or a nurse, everyone was just so nice and reassuring.

There is one nurse in particular I want to mention though, I'm awful with names and it was a stressful day for me but her name was Deirdre Kiely I think, a lovely lady with blonde hair she really went above the call of duty, the woman was an absolute Godsend on the day, she understood how difficult the situation was for our son and us, she didn't try to take over or force anything on him, she trusted us as parents that we knew how to handle him best we told her a trigger for him was loud noises a machine went off and she immediately had them turn it off as it was upsetting our son, she was kind, understanding and most importantly non-judgmental,

I'm telling you the woman should have a Halo around her head!!!!

The experience of this procedure in one way was the most horrific of my life because my son was so upset and confused and it was traumatic for us to watch him like that, however the service and the level of care we experienced from the staff on the day was absolutely world class and more!!

UMHL

I gave 3 weeks in UMHL before the birth of my daughter last September and the staff from Doctors to midwife’s to dinner staff were just fantastic.

Dr Naro and her team were amazing especially Claire who was present for the birth of my daughter and came to check on me before I was discharged also.

All the staff on m3 were just fabulous and the student midwife’s also, no future mother to be should have any fear with these saints around.

Rachael the ward manager came to see me every day and was so helpful with any worries I had she couldn’t do enough for me.

Aine, Kate, Fiona, Amy, Noelle, Erin, Megan to name a few who made my stay a pleasure.

Croom Orthopaedic  Hospital

I wish to commend croom hospital and especially kaarl Barcoe on the wonderful care my mother( Teresa ) received following a shoulder replacement in December.

Kaarl went above and beyond to help us organise after care for our mum. As a result of the initial support she received she is improving all the time.  Many thanks.

Nenagh Hospital

I had an appt for my daughter today im Nenagh Hospital and was so impressed; all the staff were so kind and friendly, from the lady who gave us directions on where to go in Outpatients, the administrator in Radiology and the nurse and radiographer we had for her scan!

The hospital itself was bright, clean and modern. We were called on time and the appointment was v.quick and efficient! I only wish that this was our local hospital to access services if we needed them as I was so impressed.

Please pass on my compliments to the staff

University Hospital Limerick

My elderly mother in law had a bad fall in the early evening of 17 January. We found her an hour later.  She was taken to Limerick University Hospital, and when we visited her there, we have found the hospital staff to be thorough, professional, and empathetic. Considering the bad press one often hears about the health service, and Limerick in particular, we have been pleasantly surprised. Thank you!
