Nursing and Midwifery Strategy Launch
I am delighted to inform you of the completion of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027 “Relationship Centred Care”
The four priorities are as follows:
The four priorities are centred around Relationship Centred Care. Relationship centred care is healthcare staff working together to improve the nature and quality of relationships in healthcare, which influence patient experiences and outcomes. The Strategic Plan outlines our commitment to excellent relationship centred care, professional growth, innovation and leadership. I look forward to working with all our councils to implement and deliver on this plan over the next four years.
The National Inpatient Experience Survey to commence on the 1st of May 2024.
The National Inpatient Experience Survey is a national survey which aims to highlight areas of good service and areas which need improvement in relation to patient care in our hospitals.
The survey will take in place in May for patients:
We use the survey results to inform us of what patients are saying is good about our service that we can replicate across our hospitals. We also use the survey results to inform us of what is not so good which we need to work on to develop quality improvement initiatives in our hospitals. Promotional materials will be provided to for each site for display on wards from 1st May.
“The National Inpatient Experience Survey is a really good opportunity for us to use feedback from our patients to develop quality improvement initiatives. Please speak to your patients about the survey and for those nursing staff responsible for discharging patients, ensuring they are provided with discharge packs when they go home,” Declan McNamara, CDONM
