Surgical Assessment Unit
I was admitted to SAU via the breast clinic. A breast nurse specialist took my call the day before and arranged for me to meet Mr Baban the next day where they admitted me.
My huge thanks to them both for listening and caring. My consultant was on holiday and he had no problem taking me under his care and when he said you will see me every day, he meant it and he did. Fantastic consultant.
One particular nurse in the SAU stood out for me, her name is Emer. Her care and compassion was amazing. When she said she'd be back in a minute she came back. When she said I'll get those items for you now she got them. The other staff there were fantastic too including the kind ladies from catering who always had a smile or a cheery good morning. Means a lot when your not well.
The day time staff were run off their feet during the day with a 'difficult' patient but they maintained their empathy and professionalism. A HCA there called Vuvu was a kind and funny lady. They all treated me as a person and not just a patient.

Prof Margaret O'Connor has demonstrated outstanding care, kindness, clinical excellence and leadership in caring for my mother. Her dedication as a medical consultant is exemplary. She goes over and beyond in caring for the older adult, she is passionate about patient centered care. She takes time to listen to my mom and her family. ULHG is so fortunate to have a Clinical leader with her experience. I will never be able to thank her enough for the wonderful safe care she provides on a daily basis. If there was an award for consultant of the year then it should go to Prof Margaret O'Connor.

Superb day case experience in croom day ward under max fax .Had oral surgery under Mr .gilbride .From meeting Mairead in the adm .office right through to cnm2 Linda Costello..Dr Louise Barry,Mr .Gilbride and all members of staff . Fantastic new unit and a prompt expertise service by all nurses / doctors involved Well done all within this ward .
