Endoscopy Unit UHL

I attended UHL this morning for an Endoscopy in the outpatients department. It is very efficiently ran and I was very impressed with the the speed at which I was seen. All staff I met from admissions to security to the nurses and doctors and the porters everyone was extremely pleasent and I’m delighted to have had such a positive experience in UHL.

Injury Department Ennis Hospital

I attended the minor injury department with my neighbour on Sunday afternoon. It was very busy when we arrived and the waiting room was full. The nurses were run off their feet. There was a bit of a queue when we arrived at the check in. The man on the desk was very busy admitting the people ahead of us. He was very polite and professional and didn’t rush anyone. He told every person to take a seat and put his arm out to show us the location of the waiting room.

Shortly after we sat down he came into the waiting area with packs in his hand. He asked everyone if they would like a puzzle pack while they were waiting to be seen. I took one as I knew we would we here for a few hours. I saw his name badge when he gave me a puzzle pack. He also told everyone that there was a toilet straight in the double doors if anyone needed to use it.

A few women commented that the service Gerard gave was very good. Gerard made every patient feel very important during the time we were waiting to be seen.

The service given on the day was very good. Gerard also explained where the fracture clinic was in UHL to my neighbour Mary. She was delighted as I leaving the hospital.

Gerard was a blessing to meet on such a very busy day and the waiting passed quickly as Gerard gave us the puzzle packs to keep us entertained. Thank you so much to Gerard and the nurse Roisin for all the kindness on the day. Ennis is very lucky to have two very kind staff that have such kindness in them.

Emergency Department University Hospital Limerick

My family member was brought in by ambulance unwell  and the care he received in ED was excellent.

Although there was a queue to be triaged from ambulances he was seen promptly and moved to Zone A where he was overnight.

All the staff were kind, courteous, efficient and extremely hard working. He was admitted under medics and both the ED Reg and the Med Reg that night were great, they communicated the concern and the plan. X-ray was done promptly as were bloods.

The nurses in Zone A never stopped working, they were under pressure with patients lined up and down the corridors and any time I spoke with them they were attentive and helped as soon as they could.

I didn’t get everyone’s names but thank you very much to Jiya, Dennis and Anila to name the few.

Such an acute busy area with clear service pressures and a huge turnover of patients.

I think often in ED as patients are at their sickest with families and patients both navigating the feelings of exhaustion and worry that we soon forget the help we received when we needed it most so thank you very much, I don’t know how ye do it!

Endocrinology Outpatients: Dr Hannon Clinic OPD 1

I had a great experience at Dr Hannons Clinic today, every member of staff from admin, nursing, doctors and phlebotomy, were very kind and looked after me very well. There was no waiting about and everything was explained to me clearly. Thank you all, I was very nervous and you all made me feel at ease.

Ward 3D UHL

My uncle was admitted to 3D ward. He was approaching end of life. Every single staff member was fantastic. The nursing staff were kind, professional, sympathetic and caring. For a huge busy ward, we felt that the care and dignity given by the HCAs and nursing staff was second to none. I hope this message can be passed on. The resilience they show to come to work every day despite negativity in the media is amazing. We will remember his last day fondly.

Injury Unit Nenagh

Hi all I was want to say thanks very much to every member of staff who was present in the small/minor injuries in nenagh on the 17th of May. I brought my daughter with a suspected broken wrist. Everyone she met were so nice to her. The hse gets enough negative complaints so I just want to share the positive. The service was just wow thanks so much.

Gerard.
