ED UHL

I presented myself to UL Hospital Limerick with a bad thumb injury last Saturday. From the first minute of arrival I was expertly looked after particularly by Ms. Elaina Ryan at reception who was exceptionally kind and helpful at getting me seen quickly. Also Dr Peter Lis in Trauma was very kind.

I know in these times it is easy complain but I just want to say thanks to all for their assistance at my hour of need. My thumb was mangled and broken following a machinery accident cutting logs.

I’m very grateful.

Nenagh Hospital Physio

Had a really positive physio session with Aoife McMahon in Nenagh Hospital today. In a short space of time and conscious that I was on my way to work, Aoife structured the session brilliantly . The intro was great and she explained fully what the session would cover. All instructions for exercises I need to do myself were explained clearly. The follow up appointment was booked by Aoife herself. I would like to compliment her on her strong customer service ability and excellent physio skills. Thanks Aoife!

ED & CCU UHL

My son suffered a heart attack  at work in Ennis I can’t thank the staff of UHL enough from the paramedic team, to the ED staff including the poor girl on reception that must have been sick of all my questions.

The level of care he received, and the CCU staff and catering staff that took care of him while in hospital were outstanding. In his own words at the time “the turn down service is 5 star”.

Mr. Hennessy and his team are so attentive and do not overlook or dismiss anything. I don’t think we know how lucky we are to have such a team in the mid-west. It’s taken me until now to come to terms with what happened and we ve a long road ahead so want to acknowledge the hard dedicated workers in UHL. We all hear the horror stories and people rarely take time to tell the good.

Thank you to all those who got him back on the road to recovery ❤️‍🩹 , we’ve won our lottery.

UHL Shop

I would like to highlight the fantastic service delivered by Cath at the shop in University Hospital Limerick. I have a very ill relative, who has unfortunately spent a considerable amount of time in UHL over the last few months. It was an absolute delight to find out that we could have a daily paper (and any other sundries) delivered to him. Cath is extremely efficient and considerate. On many occasions I have contacted her to order something by text or phone, then would immediately ring the patient to tell him I had done so. Whilst still on the phone, I would hear her deliver the items to his ward at the other end of the hospital.

She is a pleasure to deal with and I think that the service should be acknowledged for its benefit to patients and their families. It may seem like a small service, but it makes a huge difference to the patient. In our case we do not live locally and therefore cannot drop in requirements on a daily basis. I think that the management team at UHL should develop this service and certainly assist Cath and her team by advertising it further. Perhaps an app, where patients themselves could set up an account linked to a card, and order through it would be useful.
