A Look back at 2023

 


As 2023 draws to a close, take some time to look back at the highlights across UL Hospitals Group.

Christmas Dinner Ennis

T’was the season for joy and merriment at Ennis Hospital! The catering team whipped up a sensational Christmas feast. To add to the festivities, a jumper competition was held, spreading holiday cheer throughout the hospital.




 


Christmas Dinner Nenagh

There was wonderful food and atmosphere in Nenagh Hospital for the annual Christmas Dinner.

 

The catering team did an amazing job preparing a special Christmas dinner for the staff.

Christmas Dinner UHL 

Last week, the UHL catering team served a delicious Christmas dinner to hundreds of staff. The event was supported by the Operational Services Team and the Health and Wellbeing team. Santa and the Mackey Cup also made an appearance, and a list of the naughty and nice staff was taken on the day.




 


Christmas Dinner St Johns 

Huge thanks to the St John’s Catering Team and Health & Wellbeing Committee for organizing an amazing Christmas lunch for staff. It was a great way to celebrate the season and show appreciation to our hard-working employees. Some of our dedicated staff who will be working on Christmas Day were fortunate to enjoy this special lunch last week.




 


Christmas Fair UHL

It was great to see the UHL Christmas fair back this year.



The fair was held in the CERC entrance corridor on the 7th December.

There was a wide selection of food, handmade crafts, jewellery and much more.

It was a fantastic opportunity to support local business while enjoying some festive cheer.


 


Christmas Attire Competition UHL 

The UHL Christmas dinner's Christmas Attire Competition was truly a battle of fashion, filled with fierce competition and fabulous outfits. See below the winning costumes that stole the show!




 


Croom Santa Dash 

Croom Orthopaedic Hospital had a Santa Dash with friends and family on 9th December. Organised by the Health and Wellbeing Committee with money raised on the day for Irish Red Cross




 


UHL Santa Dash 

University Hospital Limerick had a Santa Dash on 20th December. Supported by the ULHG Sports and Social Club and HI Committee. Donations raised on the day for the Simon Community.




 


UHL Christmas tree lighting

A big thank you to Maksymillian Cislo (6) from Raheen Limerick who kindly turned on the Christmas tree lights in UHL.

Maksymillian was assisted by CEO Colette Cowan and Santa Claus.



A special thanks to the staff in our Operational Services Department who ensure that the tree is erected and lit up every year at the entrance to UHL.


 


Paeds Bake Off UHL 

The Paeds Christmas Bake off took place on Friday 1st December. Dr. Daryl Butler,  Paediatric Respiratory Consultant, and Dr. Rachel Power, Consultant Paediatrician, played the roles of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood for the judging . Well done to everyone who took part in this very enjoyable event and a big thank you to the organisers.




 


UHL Remembrance Tree 

The UHL Tree of Remembrance is a place for staff, patients and visitors to remember those we love who have died.

We dedicate a ribbon in their memory on the tree which also includes names from our annual remembrance service held in October.
