Lift Maintenance UHL

Please be advised that maintenance works will be carried out in lifts 9, 10, and 11 by Sisk and UHL Estates according to the following schedule:

Signage will be in place on each floor adjacent to each lift on the nights in question to inform staff and visitors. Please plan accordingly and use alternative lifts if needed.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this maintenance work.

Access and Egress at Main Hospital Entrance UHL

Please ensure patients are aware of the restricted access at UHL between the hours of 10pm and 6am for their safety and the safety of the hospital site.

During this time, the main entrance will only be opened in case of an emergency or if a relative has been invited by ward staff to attend. Access during these hours will be managed by UHL security through an external intercom.

It is crucial to inform our patients of our Tobacco Free Campus policy upon admission. Admitted patients should be screened for smoking. Patients who are identified as smokers should be offered support. This support could include advice on how to quit smoking, offering them Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and referring them to niamh.keating4@hse.ie Health Promotion & Improvement Officer.

The Standard Operational Procedure is attached to this email and is in place to maintain a secure and safe environment within our hospital premises.

Applications for new mentees for the HSE Assisted Decision Making (ADM) Mentorship Programme are now open. If you are involved in any aspects of ADM – supporting people directly, have a specific role in ADM, or are involved in ADM committees – we invite you to join the programme.

MMR Vaccine Clinics this week

Health Care Workers across the Mid-West are being invited to attend one of the free MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella) Catch Up Vaccination Clinics over the coming weeks if they require the vaccine.
